Haven’t collabed with @renconner in a long while for a mini comic (minus our big one, Instinct). We were talking about one of Stan’s lowest moments involving being outside with that damn sign, so we decided to make a comic with Stan remembering it. I’ve also kinda of assumed Filbrick would lie to Ford about what’s going on with Stan (Stan probably did too to some extent).

Every person is, of course, a deep, complex and changeable ocean.

Some people live in boats. All kinds of boats. Cruise liners. House boats. Rafts. Boats with rooms, boats with secrets, boats that ferry the souls of the dead, boats that ferry the bodies of the living. Sailing or rowing or motoring around, fishing, weathering storms, doing oceanography. Welcoming people on board like hello, welcome, this is my boat, here are the amenities, mind the bulkhead here it's low, yes the weather is lovely today isn't it, my ocean is glassy and turquoise.

Some people live on islands. They go in the ocean often, or sometimes, or not at all. Maybe there's resorts on the island, or maybe just a beach shack. They might tell visitors not to go in the water cos of dangerous animals. Maybe they just hope people won't notice or bother with the ocean, because the island is so diverting. Or maybe the point of the island is the ocean and they spend all day and night their with their friends.

Maybe some people live on floating castles in the air over the ocean. The castle is definitely real.

Some people live in submarines. Maybe they have to remember to come up for air, maybe they have electrolysis, maybe they have to mind the pressure. Maybe they implode sometimes. Pinging fifos through the depths. Hello, is anyone there? (

Some people just... Live in the ocean. Just them and their ocean.
